These retired commercial chickens are 100% farmyard pets now - we’ve had them a year now. (Brian the bantam cockerel has been here for 4 years). They are moulting again at the moment so having a break from laying, but they do love a good rummage in the stable straw.

It’s all go at bedtime bathtime at the #smallholdingdream 😳🤣 - the ducks are staying inside unless weather is dry (partly b/c they turn the poultry paddock to mud, partly b/c it ⬇️ avian flu risk to stay inside) but they do have bathtime in the hosed-down stableyard every day. Sound on!

In big news at the #smallholdingdream, our neighbour’s beautiful runner duck drake is starting to get into his stride! I’m not sure he has yet figured out he needs to do a bit more than just stand on the hen duck’s back like an avian sychnronised swimmer mind you 😂
