I'm also not around for this tomorrow but am looking forward to getting back into #SmithSkyHour again next sunday 😘
ditto for me (except for the busy on the bench part 🙃) - looking forward to chatting next week. #smithskyhour
I won't be around for #smithskyhour this sunday, but I've been busy on the bench and will be looking forward to connecting with you all next week 🖤 #metalsmith #metalsmithing #smithsky
Lovely chatting to you all this evening, hope we can do it again next week! #SmithSkyHour
Right, now the most important question for you of all, shall we have some ice cream? 🍦 ☺️ #SmithSkyHour
And we're going to hold you to that ☺️ #SmithSkyHour
thanks for the encouragement! we'll see. feel like i might have an accountability group now 😬
looking forward to seeing what all you guys are up to!
#SmithSkyHour
And yep, also with the plastic lid so the steel parts of the original lid don't drip into the pickle. Great minds! #SmithSkyHour
I do that too! 😁 #SmithSkyHour
Small quart-sized crockpot with a short fat mason jar inside. The mason jar contains the pickle. Outside of the pickle is plain water.
My old pickle pot eventually etched and cracked. When I got a new one, rather than putting the pickle directly in the pot, I put the pickle in a short, fat glass mason jar. It is surrounded by plain water #smithskyhour
Maybe I'll practice with something hard like brass so when I go back to silver it's like butter in my hands haha #SmithSkyHour
Now that is brilliant! I was looking for something like that to sew into little pouches when I cam across the tea bag thingies. But I couldn't think where I'd seen it before #SmithSkyHour
They're so great! They're from Indigenized, he's fantastic

Very fine green plastic netting that once held garlic bulbs.
So cute! That'll hold up nicely! I use this netting from the grocery for my ultrasonic cleaner #smithskyhour
I'm totally nosing your insta now. These cabs! I'm going to have to get me some of those www.instagram.com/p/DRanX-AkR7M/ #SmithSkyHour
Learning from a master - the dream! #SmithSkyHour
Yeah I tried the sieves but I never really got them to fit in my little crockpot very well. You got any great tips for us? 😁 #SmithSkyHour
that sounds much better than the plastic sieves i used to use for tiny bits. gonna have to start a "great tips" list now 😜
#SmithSkyHour
Yes! I haven't redone that since the move though, thanks for the reminder. It is good for when you're using a few and swapping them in and out - keeps them close but out of the way you know? #SmithSkyHour
It's very soft and squidgy. I think you can buy them in different sizes too. I might try using them in my pickle pot for tiny bits as well #SmithSkyHour
That's so smart, too. Hey @piratito.com was it you that suggested putting magnetic tape on the edge of your workbench to hold burrs and bits and such? #smithskyhour
Oh that's lovely! Maybe she was just scared you'd take all her customers. But there are SO many different ways to make jewellery, there is room for us all. #SmithSkyHour
genius! does it just hold flat things or is it flexible for thicker pieces?
#SmithSkyHour
Ah genius!! In a similar vein, I recently saw someone using an old cribbage board for their burrs #smithskyhour
do people still use those heavy pitch bowls (i know, i'm dating my self here from the 80s...) or do you use something else now?
#SmithSkyHour
A silicone tea bag.
I'm big on repurposing stuff for my own use and/or entertainment. I noticed that my pieces were getting a bit scratched in my ultrasonic so I got these silicone teabags to put them inside and it works a treat. Feeling a bit pleased with myself about it actually lol #SmithSkyHour
And social media has opened the world up sooo much!!! I'm grateful and completely geeked out about connecting with other kind souls and creatives here #SmithSkyHour
man that stuff is diiiiffficult!
#SmithSkyHour
Tara does the most INCREDIBLE work. You're inspiring me to want to learn chasing and repoussé. #SmithSkyHour
nice - cross platform!
