BioWare's Sonic RPG, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, uses a streamlined version of Dragon Age: Origins' dialogue system, according to former producer Mark Darrah.
He suggests Origins may have borrowed from Sonic's code.

I've always wanted to play #SonicChronicles and now that it's done, I'll never go back. Combat was uninspired, graphics did not age well and that massive cliffhanger with no resolution is a HUGE bummer. Glad to clear this off the backlog.

One of my lowkey favorite games. Sonic Chronicles, the only Sonic RPG. It's flawed, from touch controls to music, BioWare did fail this game. But the narrative and the locales… they bring a smile to my face.
I don't think I've replayed any other RPG as many times.
