An HO Southern Pacific (SP) 9016 was leading a westbound local, crossing "Mouse Creek" on the California Central Model Railroad Club (CCMRC) in the historic Agnew depot in Santa Clara, CA on Saturday, November 28, 2015. My model is an Overland Brass model. The real SP 9016 was a Kraus-Maffei, ML-4000, SP Class DF-801. It became SP Class KF636-1 and SP 9119. Reportedly, it was built in 1964, construction number 19112. It was retired in 1967 and scrapped.

SP 9504 at the Tri-City Society of Model Engineers model railroad in the historic Niles depot in Fremont, CA. This is a Scale Trains Models. The real SP 9504 was an EMD SD45X, SP Class EF642-2. Reportedly: it was built in 1971 to SP specifications as EMD 4202, builders number 36807. It was sold to SP in 1972 becoming SP 9504. It was retired in 1984 and scrapped.

In a photo taken circa 1981, Southern Pacific (SP) 2598 is in Santa Clara, CA. SP 2598 is an EMD SW1500, SP Class ES415-4. Reportedly: it was built in 1971, serial number 4608-8. These locomotives were called "cruds" mainly because they were so prolific. SP likely bought so many of them because they were such fine locomotives. Four plus decades later, many of these are still working for a living.

On Thursday, September 12, 1974, Southern Pacific (SP) SW1500 2478 was at Bayshore Yard, in Brisbane, near San Francisco, CA. SP 2478 was an SW1500, SP Class ES415-1. Reportedly: It was built in 1967, builder number 33138. It was repainted with speed lettering at one point. Assigned UP 1082 but UP number apparently never applied. It was retired in 1999. In 2000 it was sold to Gold Coast Rail Services as 2478, leased to Brownsville and Rio Grande International Railroad (BRG) 2478. Current disposition unknown.

Reportedly: it was built in 1967, builder number 33139. It was retired in 1994 and sold in 1995 to Omni-Trax being resold to Minnesota Corn Processors (MCP) 2479 in Columbus, Nebraska. It was repainted green with gold and beige bands.

This is a Sunset Models "Prestige Series" factory painted DC Brass 2-8-0. The real SP 2575 was a Baldwin built SP Class C9 Consolidation. Reportedly: it was built in 1905, builders number 25493. It was scrapped in 1953.

It was upgraded in 1976 emerging as SP 4107. The reported disposition of this locomotive is, retired 1993, scrapped.

Reportedly: it was built as SP 5309, SP Class DF-117, in 1953, construction number 18381, the first of it's class, and was built with 62:15 gearing, steam generators and signal lights at each end. Renumbered to 2716 in the 1965 renumbering, it was renumbered again to 1416 in 1973. SP 1416 was upgraded in 1979 to SP Class ES615R-1 1511. SP 1511 was retired and sold in 1995.
