Sorry, the CME has failed to produce any excitement for us on Earth. The IMF Bz has remained in positive territory most of the day and Earth seems to have failed to make it into the core magnetic structure of the CME.
If anything changes I'll try to announce it here.

On April 1st, 2026, NASA plans to send 4 astronauts on the first manned Moon mission in ~55 years, exploring deeper into space than ever before. This comes just as the Earth-facing side of the Sun is covered with numerous active sunspots, and a sungrazer comet that could provoke them.

#solarstorm update โ the CME-driven shock arrived at Earth at ~11:30 UTC on Apr 1, significantly later than predicted. Likely a flank encounter: L1 solar wind measurements show total magnetic field strength <15 nT with a speed of ~500 km/s, resulting in no significant disturbances ๐ด #SpaceWeather
The earlier mentioned coronal hole just to the west of the flare location is restraining the westward extent of the CME. We'll see the fast solar wind from the coronal hole in a couple of days.
