Further coverage, this time from Smithsonian, of the 1st ever dissection of a #spadetooth #whale.

New details: CT scan taken of head, organs weighed/measured. Stomach contents were mostly squid parts.

Again, they say cause of death is "head trauma"

Initial necropsy results for #spadetooth #whale in #NewZealand:

"Anton van Helden said the whale’s broken jaw and bruising to the head and neck led scientists to believe that head trauma may have caused its death."

They're not saying #shipstrike, but...
