I had been working on some art for Bib's latest video, and I couldn't share it until now bc I couldn't spoil anything.
Btw you should really check his channel out if you haven't already :D

Tundra bugbears are used to the vast expanses of snow with no end in sight. They are the biggest out of the 3 and the most common. They will follow prey for days on end if they have to. You will die of exhaustion before they lose track of you.

An alien deity. Izz-Ze is a stretched out Baleen with purple shaggy fur on their back. They have golden markings on their limbs, and sparkling freckles of gold in the purple fur.
Presenting a new trickster deity for the #Baleens. The Izz-Ze is a spirit of mischief. If you leave toys or shinies unattended, they get swiped by this cheerful critter.
(Based off my friend Izze's sona, because it's fun and why not?) #speculativebiology

Anyway, fun facts pertaining to species which appeared in A Summer with the Immortal:
• Phosphor-trees are alders
• Algal vitrine (bioplastic) is made by a Volvox species
• Taxites are Hypocreales sac fungi
• Riding drakes are descended from Podarcis wall lizards

A full digital drawing of a fictional alien creature called a sledder. There's three color morphs, different angles of the head, and an underside view.
And next up for the Baleen world- their pets and beasts of burden, the Sledders.
Sledders use their large front legs like skis, and propel themselves with their hind legs. They're strong enough to help the Baleens by pulling sleds over the sands and softer grounds of their range. #speculativebiology
What if Andalites evolved from a mollusk-like thing actually?

A giant armadillo-like beast leaps at a smaller hooved creature as they run along a forest path. Two rolled up balls are chasing along on either wide.
This is the Shtolpilke, a giant armadillo like monster which rolls after its prey at top speed before springing open to seize them in its claws.

A speculative evolution illustration of two silverfish, one of the speculative king silverfish (Lepisma gigas) and the actual (house) silverfish (Lepisma saccharinum) for comparison. The king silverfish is chewing wood with its mandibles and is about 4-5 cm long (1.5-2 inches). The Silverfish (called the king silverfish ITTL) is not exciting in this world. They are related to the real silverfish, but not remarkable. Sure, they are considered household pests in that same vein, but aside from being able to actually bite (which is non-lethal) thanks to more powerful mandibles, preference to lay eggs in cracks/gaps and chew harder materials (but not soft stone), the king silverfish is just harmless. They're still fast as the house silverfish too. So I guess they are really boring and not epic like in Minecraft anyway.
cw: bugs, insects
What if there was a "specevo" Minecraft silverfish? Like just a literal silverfish in the real world. Spoilers - its just a bigger silverfish. So what am I supposed to do with it

I've recently compiled a handful of art I made for my world building project here: www.rpnation.com/threads/a-co...
Figured it would be good to have one place so I don't have to post them in batches of four in the replies. #worldbuilding #art #ocrp #ocdesign #creaturedesign #speculativebiology
A six limbed bat-like monster pins a smaller creature to a log on the edge of a lake at night.
This is the Drachnid, a six legged winged bat-like creature from the Boreal forests. It drinks blood and preys on small to medium sized mammals. Its preys only chance is to get underwater as it will drown if it tries to follow.

A male Baleen done up in bright orange fabrics. He's also sporting a stick and a headset with dyed pampas mangrove seed fluffs.
A #Baleen travel/caravan leader!
To lead one of the roaming groups, you need to stay highly visible and keep a cool head.

A rough anatomical drawing outlining main organ systems & structures. Spiral-shaped “book lungs” and a central nerve cord that runs along the belly (not the back) are some of their more unique features.
outline drawing of a bipedal but three-limbed alien creature. They use their pincer-tipped singular front limb to snatch up smaller prey, and tear into both carcasses and even some “plant” materials. The actual mouth, a small but powerful beak located just behind this front appendage, can then gnaw away :)
Longtime no post— here’s a WIP drawing of a predatory alien creature, including some underlying anatomical musings. The design is mostly the same as before, just a few tweaks that felt right to me.

Imagine a maze world with no gravity and no oxygen.
Land stretches in every direction through endless tunnels and pathways. ⛰️
A wingless humanoid species (3–8 ft tall) lives here.
What biology allows them not just to survive, but to thrive?
