I think fly patterns are somewhat like songs. There are the originals with a certain rhyme, rhythm, timbre, etc. But one can take it and make the cover their own, adapting and modifying to suit one’s own style. The original October Hilton with hackle wings and my covers.

Strip wing Spey. A little ragged on the wing tips but I tear them apart in any case. It’s a little subdued but I think it’ll work on cloudy days or late in the day. Was thinking of how the Church of England works.
