Trapped beneath the ice. What you can’t see in this image is the disk of ice surrounding the branch is raised above the remaining ice. I wanted to capture that, but the sun glistening won out in the end.

Last autumn’s leaf in a puddle lies beneath the water and ice. The ripples formed around the base of the leaf. I love how that bit of stem pokes through the surface and the ripples form around it.
