There is an official automaton hulk model from NorthStar but I wanted to see if I could make two from the box of plastics. They came out fine but I might make some new ones with spare Orc bodies. More bulk& intimidating.

Three automaton butcher miniatures from NorthStar military figures. Cyber-zombies with blades and drills for hands. They are dressed in soiled surgeon’s scrubs a light green in colour.

WIP. I’ve been repainting the clothing of my automatons to distinguish between the types. The soldiers are now in green camo, and I’m the butchers in surgeon’s scrubs.

Elysian Green over all. Ogryn Camo slashes with DeathWorld Forest slashes under them. Athonian CamoShade wash to finish. It’ll do for tabletop quality.

WIP automaton soldier camo. I did 4 of 20 automatons as soldiers. I had done all in blue-grey but am redoing the soldiers w/ green camo. I think it’s good enough for the tabletop👍

Occupants of the cell have to ‘do their business’ in full view of their custodians…and other prisoners. The hole there was just on the preproduction kit I received. tnts.games has replaced it with an engraved grill (in my honour💩😆) on the final production kit.

Second pic: I gave one automaton soldier a rifle from the Scavengers II sprue & put a flamer tank on the spine of an automaton bomb. I might go back & add one to the first automaton bomb I made before. Makes them stand out more.

Another five automatons ready for painting. Carved out the belly of one and added tentacles to make Krang. With the others, the kit has two drill hands so I had to make a driller-killer, and I converted one to have an eye-gun. #stargrave #stargravedeathvector

An interesting thing I noticed in #stargravedeathvector that I don’t think had been fleshed out until now is that it indicates there were two empires before the Last War: “neither empire deemed it worthy of colonization.” & “it took the combined might of both empires to trap and destroy this fleet.”
