The Dream: The mayor+council suddenly realised a river front walk is a good thing for the town... and for their image.

The Reality: Ironically, the mayor+council reversed the previous council's attempt to make the river front behind the Senior Center accessible to the public. Well, there was an element of spite involved too, in many people's opinion, allegedly, etc

I missed last evening's Red Bank NJ, Shrewsbury Ave. Rehabilitation Plan for Housing and Waterfront Access.
Ironic it took place at the Senior Center...
Hard to find any report, but thx to #TapIntoRedBank for making the presentation material available.

Public Comment on Homeless Incident

Bridget Antonucci a local resident, told the council that, “I have growing safety concerns about the homeless. Several times out walking, I have seen the homeless defecate at Riverside Gardens (Park).”

“Last week I was walking my dog in the parking lot in the back of the Dublin House and I saw a homeless man proceed to stand up, pull his pants down and urinate in public.”

“I did call the police and want to say kudos to the Red Bank Police, they do an amazing job. They did come in a very quick response time.”

“However, I want to bring to your attention that the problem is getting worse. And the actions that we do see from some of the homeless in town are getting more and more brazen, and there are children around.”

“I see them camping out in the library, smoking marijuana in front of children when they are going in for Story Time. I wanted to bring it to the council’s attention that the residents think it’s getting worse.”

There was no comment from the Mayor or council members.
