With this deck I am going to follow the basic structure of the RWS tarot system even if the imagery differs from the original cards in some instances, as I think a common language in the form of structure makes reading more accessible and basically makes sense.
When I first started reading tarot over 15 years ago I must have read every book going on meanings, history and esoteric correspindances etc.
I filled book after nook with written notes.
I have quite a scatter brain and a memory like a sieve so it was a case of a little bit too much info.
I think learning all this stuff is important, even if you don't remember it, I'm sure it seeps into the subconscious.
However, I found that I was worrying too much about getting things right and spending more time studying than reading.
I found that when I was just in the moment with the cards and reading more intuitively, my readings improved dramatically and I enjoyed reading so much more.
With this deck I want to create cards that resonate with the energies and essences of each card so that they speak more to this intuitive way of reading.
This photo by Jack Greenwood shows Jack's page of wands tarot card with a candle holding a wand in one hand and a phone in the other. They have three flame heads with different expressions and the background is based on Salamander skin.
I worked on my #pageofwands #tarotcard yesterday.
More info about my idea for this deck in alt text.
I will be posting regularly with updates.
I'm also starting a general tarot blog soon.
