Beyond thoughts and prayers, mind-numbing statistics, and heartbreak, there IS evidence that gun restriction works to decrease the number of intimate partner related homicides and deaths by mass shooting. We know what to do.

In some states, people with history of misdemeanor crimes of violence are restricted from owning firearms for a number of years. Guess what? Only 8 states have this law. But those states have seen a >20% decrease in intimate partner homicides.

The news media focuses on the mass shootings that occur in public. But a greater number of children die by family mass murders than those that occur in public. We need to pay more attention to domestic violence.
