Blanket or rug? In Diné textiles, that difference tells a bigger story about shifting markets, changing buyers, and how designs adapted when floor coverings became the dominant demand.

Jedes Zahnrad, jeder Hebel und die Patina auf dem Metall erzählen von jahrzehntelanger Arbeit. Faszinierend, wie präzise diese Giganten aus Eisen früher funktionierten!

A fire in Bronze Age Spain ~1450 BC destroyed a settlement — and accidentally preserved something almost never found: the actual wooden frame of a loom, still loaded with weights. New study in Antiquity reconstructs it. #Archaeology #BronzeAge #TextileHistory @antiquity.ac.uk

It was the copper rivets that set his denim jeans apart from those made by competitors. Though he did remove the rivets that were originally on the back side of his jeans after complaints from customers who often sat around campfires.
An image of the so-called "Two Horse" logo. At its center, a pair of Levi's jeans - in the original logo, it was denim overalls - with two ropes attached to the sides (or pockets). The ropes are connected to horses being driven by two men in an attempt to rip the Levi's jeans. Above this image, the text reads: "It's no use they can't be ripped." Above that, the logo includes the name: Levi Strauss & Co's Patent Riveted
It is the birthday in 1829 of the clothing maker whose name appears more than any other on backsides around the world. Levi Strauss has been written on blue-jean labels since 1873.

An embroidery of a queen with two attendants and a castle in the background. They are surrounded by small insects, birds and flowers.
Someone really had fun with metal threads and wire here. Not content with a shiny dress, crown and sceptre, this very regal Esther has two attendants holding up her train and a parasol in a c. 1640 embroidery at The Holburne Museum, Bath.
