A scene from Tasha Suri’s The Burning Kingdoms Trilogy. Priya and Malini meet in the imperial tent to discuss Priya’s role in the war whilst both try to restrain their feelings for each other. An exerpt from Book 2 Oleander Sword is written below:
“Will you do it as my ally? Ally. As if that encompassed even half of it. But Malini could not ask for this on the basis of whatever lay between them: a handful of furious kisses, a knife against a heart, a flower around a throat, a yearning that never seemed to abate. Priya looked at her and looked at her, and somehow the looking had brought them closer together.”

Spoiler-free Review: The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri My rating: 3 of 5 stars Okay let's get into this! I'll keep this spoiler free for the gr feed ❤ I enjoyed how morally grey a lot of the characters were written, and how intense some of these women were! Very female forward story and that did resonate with me. I also liked the political setup, and was super intrigued about how it would all pan out.

I Finished #TheJasmineThrone by #TashaSuri recently. Pretty good read, overall. The Hindu inspiration for its fantasy world was a breath of fresh air from typical Europe-centric tropes, especially in how the magic system was portrayed. Definitely gonna have to find the next book in the series.

Illustration of two Indian women in saris sitting next to a pond in the forest. Priya on the left is in orange and has dark skin and dark hair, and is looking at a dark flower in her hands, and Malini on the right is in blue and green with lighter skin and slightly lighter hair, looking at Priya.
