Wat een leuke verrassing! Zien we ineens de strandbeesten van Theo Jansen op een dijk staan. Blijkt het zijn 'beenderveld' te zijn. De beesten zijn uitgestorven maar aan sommige mag je trekken en dan komen ze even tot leven.

These animals are very rare. If you're lucky you can spot them on a beach, somewhere along the coast in The Netherlands.

テオ・ヤンセンのストランドビーストは、ケーブル配線用の樹脂パイプ、結束バンド、粘着テープ、ウレタンチューブなど身近な物から作られてます。パイプはアイボリー色でちょっと枯れた葦や竹にも見えて味わい深い。
ビーストの脚は複雑な6節(？)リンク機構で、各脚はクランク機構で同期されるようです。
空圧ピストンでスキーストックを押し出すような脚や、車輪や橇のあるビーストもいました。風の力でペットボトルに圧縮空気を溜めて風が無くても歩けるのも。とにかく独創的で素晴らしかったです。

非常な混雑のため前回入場できなかった「テオ・ヤンセン展」を観に再度千葉県立美術館へ。ストランドビーストとはオランダ生まれの作者による風で動く彫刻で、今回は小ぶりな物から巨大な物まで14種類くらいを展示。客が押して動かせるビーストや、圧縮空気で3種のビーストを動かすデモも１日に7回行われてます。部品を作る際の治具や模型やスケッチ、生物に見立てた進化系統図や映像展示もあり、とても面白かったです。
千葉県立美術館 で1/21まで。

昨年12/3に、一万人超来場したというイベント「テオ・ヤンセン展 ストランドビーストin千葉みなと」を観てきました。事前予約者が海辺の千葉ポートパーク内をビーストと一緒に歩いてました。当日は快晴。風が強くてビーストを押さなくても帆に風を受けてトコトコ歩行してました。ミニビーストを連れてきた人も。＾＾
ちなみに千葉県立美術館の本展は激混みで14時に入場終了で結局入れず、もう一度行くことに..。
※テオ・ヤンセン展は千葉県立美術館で1/21まで。
