Still, the love that starts as friendship and morphs over several years between Xander Thompson, Delilah Cross, and Cole Andrews is sweet and innocent, which leads to some excellently steamy times. <blockquote><i><b> “I have to get a mastectomy on Monday. I’m going to have a breast removed before I’ve even gone out on a date. My hair is going to fall out from the chemo and no guy is going to want to date me...if I survive.” </b></i> -- Delilah Cross </blockquote> I love and hate how this ends. I can't think of a way to describe it without saying too much, so if you're curious about it, I'd recommend reading yourself. The narrators, Theo Sinclair, Duncan Prescott, and Marina Barrett, do a wonderful job. I really do wish this was in duet, though. It's a fitting conclusion. 🩷🥳 This toys with being a dark romance but doesn't really commit to it, in my opinion. Yes, there are some events that cross that line, but I'd classify this as dark-ish. I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators, Theo Sinclair and Marie Hawkins, are a good combination.
