Terracing project where this last bit got dug out and was problematic for our long term aesthetic goals, but the first log “wall” put in at the top
Two log walls making two terraces. Then solved the too high wall problem by making a log supported slant hugelkultur bed. Not sure what to put there yet, maybe berry bushes and some viney veg?
The slant being filled in with wood chips before being topped with dirt to plant in
Weird POV, but this is the first terrace above the slant wall. The section closest to camera I planted with ginger alternating with leeks, radicchio adding the edge closest to camera, a yellow squash to go over the log and trail down the slant wall, and a pepper plant near the bare root cold hardy pomegranate that’s planted by the upright stick on the right side. Beyond is a new section ready to have the dirt smoothed and planted. Onions are the plan there. Beyond that, we are still filling with chips.
