A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of my OC Nosferawwwwtu, a gentle night creature with green skin, long spindly fingers, and a ragged black robe (or maybe it’s skin, we’re not sure; we never see them without it). Nosferawwwwtu is standing in their castle, looking at a fancy carved mirror lit with candles in sconces, a mirror in which Nosferawwwwtu casts no reflection. Nosferawwwwtu is sighing to themselves. One of their rat friends is giving a thumbs up, while another is peeking around the edge of the mirror. Nosferawwwwtu is trying to adjust a large trans support rosette on the front of their robe. The walls are dark red, the floor is brown wood, though in the mirror the wall looks a lighter red, and the floor looks greenish. Only the rat is reflected in the mirror, which is yellow gold. Nosferawwwwtu is agender, ace/aro, but likes company, as long as it is after the sun is down. They cannot meet you for lunch or daytime marches, but they are very passionate about trans rights.

Nosferawwwwtu deals with certain… challenges when getting ready for a night out.

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing, with digital lettering, of a rosette (the kind you’d wear on a lapel or mask) (or as a corsage, a hat pin, whatever you want) with a ribbon, done in trans colours (the silver is white). The center of the rosette is a white rhinestone, surrounded by a setting of pink beads in silver, then a blue petals with a crease down each petal, then a larger set of petals, striped the length of each petal in blue, pink, and white in the center, with a silver line in the center of the white. Surrounding that are silver rose leaves (again, representing white), and underneath, a ribbon striped lengthwise with the colours of the trans flag, blue on the outside, then pink, then white in the center. The ribbon is looped once on each side of the ribbon hanging down, which curls up at the base, with the ribbon cut to make a decorative “vee” end (so it doesn’t fray). I make this kind of rosette, usually to decorate masks for friends, put I’d have to make my own trans ribbon, b/c no one makes it. *grumpy*

Pushing the boundaries!*). The main drawing is of an orange-pink yam (or sweet potato) in three-quarter profile, standing on root feet, with their sprout arms up in the air, leaning slightly forward, protesting (or yelling) at three white potatoes (who, ironically, are brown, because they haven’t been peeled) in a row on the right, in three-quarter profile, one in front, the second slightly behind that one, and lastly, a potato going off the edge of the paper (they’re half-visible). They have little beady eyes, and root feet and hands, with little potatoes growing on them (I love the little potato feet!). The lead potato is asking: “Are you a sweet potato or a yam?”, and the second one is saying: “…you can’t be both.”. The sweet potato (or yam) is protesting: “Why are you so hung up on labels?! I yam what I yam! …or NOT.”. The wall is pale blue-grey, the floor is medium grey, and there are shadows underneath all the tubers. In a small white box in the bottom right corner, the top of a white potato is visible, showing their black dot eyes and angry eyebrows. They are saying:” This is potato erasure!!”. *Or, y’know, doing the absolute minimum by acknowledging that trans people are people, and TERFs/“gender essentialists” are rotten potatoes.

The stick holding the sign is a stake (recycling!), and the sign, which will be the trans flag, reads: “SAVE THEM FROM POLITICIANS PROTECT TRANS CHILDREN TERFS PASTORS” Meaning, protect trans children from politicians, TERFs, and pastors. Nosferawwwwtu is gender-neutral, non-binary, AroAce, and very passionate about marginalized communities, especially the trans community. They also enjoy socializing with other monsters, but have a difficult schedule, and cannot meet you for lunch.

Their long spindly fingers are managing to hold this important sign just fine, thank you (as long as they use their teeth!), and they have an angry expression on their face. Bela Lugosquid is holding sign 2, also bordered with blue and pink on the sides. Not only does Bela look angry, so does the spiny Black Sea urchin hanging on their fancy red ribbon (and pointing -emphatically- at the sign). They have very strong feelings about this; there was a *BAM!* against the glass as they put the sign up. Bela Lugosquid is wearing a fancy bow tie in the trans flag colours instead of his usual white tie, because they do not give a stuff about dress codes made up by transphobic numpties. *Squids prefer to be in the open sea, not aquariums, but this is the only way Bela get to visit their friend, Nosferawwwwtu.
