Six Little Ringed Plover (no pics) on roadside pool off Barrow Lane, St Helens, most I've ever seen together in St Helens, also two Northern Wheatear on Barrow Lane, best I could get of the Wheatear before they were flushed by cyclists. #UKbiring #StHelensBirding

Bonkers weather and road chaos scuppered a proper shot at a New Year bird race however great fun with Tony Kearney + Owen Parsons. A close Slav Grebe at the Spinnies NR was the highlight until @alexhj.bsky.social found a superb Lesser Yellowlegs on the Clwyd! cracking bird ☺️ #ukbiring #birdingwales

Only six species seen all day on an 8 mile epic from Penmaenmawr to the summit of Drum and back. At least 12 Red Grouse seen, a species I could only dream of seeing up there as a young lad. Red Kite, Raven, Stonechat, Kestrel and a Carrion Crow made up the rest of the list! #ukbiring #birdingwales

Birds are amazing. The last Wryneck I saw on the Great Orme was found by Rob Sandham over a decade ago. Today, I’ve just come across one in exactly the same bush as the last one! At the gunsite on the western edge of the headland. ☺️👍 #ukbiring #birdingwales
