This little chap was just sat on my hand eating bird seed. What a wonderful experience. Didn’t take a photo when he was on my hand as operating phone left handed isn’t easy and also because I didn’t want to spoil the moment. Also ground bees are buzzing around the lawn, which is lovely. #ukspring
Daffodils growing around a tree.
More roadside daffodils, but these are off-white with pale yellow trumpets.

A mix of daffodils - some off-white, others yellow.
First day this year sitting outside. Hmmm not bad. By the way, this is something I planted last year and has come back. It’s a miracle 🫣

Leaf-shaped pale yellow Brimstone butterfly with a small brown spot, wings closed, perched on a thorny brown stem.
Blue skies and warm sunshine in March means Brimstones, one of our earliest butterflies.
Seen at our Southerham Farm Nature Reserve today, and no doubt lots of other places. Have you seen a Brimstone yet?

Just discovered this flower in my garden. Love how unusual and pretty it is. I planted the bulb last year but can’t remember what’s it’s called.
Any ideas?
Looks like something you’d see at the #ChelseaFlowerShow

Mysterious small blue flower with small green leaves.
Everything seems to be later than usual this year, but this nice blue flower is coming out in my garden. Trouble is, I can’t remember what it’s called! #ukgardening #gardening #ukspring

Sometimes I wonder how ornithologists decide on the authoritative spelling of bird songs in trade books. Do they sit there in meetings arguing about whether it’s ‘tchuk-tchuk-tchuk’ with a T at the beginning and whether ‘cur-leeee! curl-leeee!’ has three E’s or four?
