Fernanda Hopenhaym, Chair of the WG on Business and Human Rights, underscord the importance of adopting a smart mix of measures as States must make it clear through legislation that implementing #UNGPs is neither voluntary nor optional, but vital to doing business that respects #HumanRights.

To open, UN Human Rights HC Volker Türk emphasized that in the face of global challenges, from "poisonous impact of fossil fuel industry to exploitation by companies of rare & precious raw materials in conflict areas", implementing #UNGPs & other int'l standards remain a priority.
