After confusing Sphagnum moss with Polytrichum, last night saw another #BotanyFail from #UniversityChallenge. The Q asked what name applied to leaves arranged in parallel rows along a common stem. The claimed answer, "Pinnate" was very wrong, because that means a single leaf with LEAFLETS in rows.
Was pleased to get all the trees tonight, aided by regularly using the tube in London, going to uni in Manchester and having family from the Wirral.
