A photo of many male and female house sparrows (Passer domesticus), small brown songbirds, lined up on a wooden fence in a back yard, along with one peach-faced lovebird (Agapornis roseicollis), a small green parrot with a bright peach-colored face and blue feathers above its tail, in the middle of all the other birds. Trees and a house are visible in the background in late afternoon lighting.
For the first year we lived in our previous house, a large number of house sparrows would forage in our yard almost constantly, and they were usually joined by someone's escaped lovebird who seemed to adopt them as its flock. I tried to tame it, but I never could. #BirdOfTheDay #Groups
