Tia Nelson, champion of environmental stewardship, to receive honorary degree from UW–Madison Nelson, who has been instrumental in advancing local, national and global conservation efforts, will be honored on May 8 at the spring commencement ceremony.

Grace Vanderhei has carried the Wisconsin Idea to the global stage, wearing a hardhat as a nuclear engineer and a crown as Miss America 2023. This December, she’ll grace the #UWGrad stage in a cap and gown as UW–Madison’s Winter 2025 Commencement speaker.
