if #Winnipeg gets an #NSL team, I hope the fans push back on mainstream media as they will a) not cover it, and b) criticize why #Winnipeg is getting another pro team after another one bit the dust. This city can support pro soccer. Just had crummy owners with #ValourFC
Also I don't think I am going to renew my #BlueBomber season tickets after this year. Not happy with what they did with #ValourFC. I only kept them this year because I wanted to go to the #GreyCup last year.
Kian Williams mutually terminated his #ValourFC contract a month before the #CanPL side folded.
He’s now locked in his next steps ⤵️
Meanwhile the opposite is true with #ValourFC whose ownership failed the team and fan base, which cause the team to cease operations in November 2025. #Winnipeg.
Hence which leads me to what I think the pro #Winnipeg sports scene will look like (just guesses).
In 2023 the professional #Winnipeg teams where
#NHL Jets- NHL
#BlueBombers - CFL
#Goldeyes - AA
#MBMoose - AHL
#ValourFC - CPL
#Seabears -CEBL
In 2018 #Winnipeg's pro sports scene grew. #ValourFC was announced for the 2019 #CanPL season. so in 2019 the scene here was as follows (Not including the #Winnipeg Ice as they were a CHL major jr. hockey team)
#NHLJets -NHL
#BlueBomber- CFL
#MBMoose- AHL
#Goldeyes- AA
#ValourFC -CPL
That’s the fourth #ValourFC player to find their footing in the pro game this month.
Van Hattum is off to the brand new OFC Pro League!
#CanPL
That makes three members of the final #ValourFC squad to lock in their next steps this month.
#CanPL
If there was something that #ValourFC was good at, was coaching goalkeepers. Patrick Di Stefani would be excellent. There are already many former Valour players there anyway…
#ValourFC fans with hangover might find something new in the L1 Prairies project that could come in 2026 to SK and MB (and maybe even Thunder Bay). This needs some attention - hope to find out more soon.
A newspaper letter to the editor highlighted in yellow, titled "Farewell to Valour" by Adam Dooley, Winnipeg. The letter criticizes Winnipeg Blue Bombers president Wade Miller regarding the closure of Valour FC. The author argues that the organization did little to woo fans, the game-day experience was poor compared to the Sea Bears, and they failed to invest in local talent or replace coach Phillip Dos Santos. The letter concludes by stating that ceasing operations right before Canada co-hosts the World Cup is a poor decision and that "Winnipeg soccer fans deserved better."
A letter to the editor in the @winnipegfreepress.com yesterday regarding #ValourFC:
#CanPL
One wonders if #ValourFC had proper owners and an academy they would have made it to the playoffs at least once or twice. #CanPL
Worth a listen too on the demise of #ValourFC through its first manager Rob Gale. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWMv... #CanPL

It looks like #ValourFC has deleted all the content on Instagram.

#ValourFC fans - we have to take our mourning & turn it into momentum. Manitoba needs ⚽️ infrastructure badly, we need pathways, & for that to happen, we need people’s passion, knowhow & support to put behind small/youth clubs however we can.
Supporter-power can change everything. We can’t stagnate.
So, Winnipeg Football Club donated all the remaining #ValourFC gear from the shop before they even allowed anyone to grab the gear after the announcement. You can't access the shop on the site, and the WFC office confirmed there is no gear left at the Bombers Shop.
Are you serious Wade?
#CanPL
Looks like the #Onesoccer digital team responsible for content on the website didn’t get the memo that #ValourFC folded. Possible because I was a season ticket holder from Day 1 and still didn’t get an apology email either #WadeMillerout would have been the solution not closure of the #CanPL team.
Mom, Mom, I was on the News. But I'd prefer if I hadn't been, as it wasn't good news....

A graphic titled "A STATEMENT FROM THE BOARD" with a faded Red River Rising logo in the background. The text reads: "On behalf of the Red River Rising board, we are deeply saddened by the announcement today. When RRR was established in 2018, our vision was to be unmistakable in our identity at the stadium and in the community. To leave a positive and lasting impression before, during, and after games. To be a driving force behind the team. To grow the game of soccer in Winnipeg. As this chapter with Valour closes, we will take the next steps in determining our path forward as a community. We will take time to reflect on our successes, failures and all the wonderful memories from the last seven years. As Valour supporters, we are nothing if not resilient. We will rise together."

Just realized that a dream of seeing a game between #ValourFC and #Valur from Iceland 🇮🇸 will never happen. Just at a time #Westjet is starting direct flights between the 2 places; would have been a great friendly for MB’s Icelandic population #Gimli
This 👇 #ValourFC
Curious how fast local #Winnipeg media jump on the news #ValourFC is folding but many of them just ignored them during the actual seasons in #CanPL - something was never right…
Farewell Winnipeg Valour FC.
All the best to @redriverrising.ca supporters.

Shame about #ValourFC but we all saw the writing on the wall long ago. Having been twice, I can say that stadium is way too big for a #CanPL team to operate. Ownership not understanding or marketing the product didn't help either. If a team goes back there, steer clear of that facility.
We stand with @redriverrising.ca and Valour FC. The fans deserve better.

#ValourFC wasn’t just my second-favourite team because they were the underdog; they were my second favourite team because they were the sole representative of central Canada, the great plains, the connecting thread between east and west, and they had an amazing jersey every year.
