Vanmiddag in en boven het #Lauwersmeer bij #Esumakeech honderden #Kieviten ( #VanellusVanellus, #Lapwing). Eerst rustend, collectief de kop in de nek, dan weer met hele horden een rondje vliegen. Gewoon voor het plezier denk ik dan.

Nice reputation. Two species breed in #Estonia: #kiivitaja, northern lapwing, aka peewit, etc., #VanellusVanellus and #ValgesabaKiivitaja, white-tailed lapwing, #VLeucurus. Its rather loose translations sometimes give ‘#plover’ but this is a member of the not quite settled subfamily
