The scene he found was quite what he expected—the place looked like a dead man’s home. A thick layer of dust covered the hardwood floors, as well as the dust covers over the furniture. The silence was complete, and the only source of light was the rays of moonlight, filtering through the window that faced the back yard. Varka’s shoulders fell slightly. Of course, he didn’t have to sweep his floors tonight and get the dust covers off of everything, but this house hardly felt like a home. Venti’s hand tugged at his sleeve. “Say, why wouldn’t you camp out with me for a few days while you pick away at this? It wouldn’t be much different from how you were living in Nod-Krai, and you wouldn’t have to tackle all of this at once.”
