I found the RSC satellite meeting at #ViCEPHEC24 really enlightening on that front because it turns out (admittedly unsurprisingly) that yeah - the ChemEng lab experiments we saw had very different aims / skills. Much more on flow and mass / heat transfer. Much more on automation and regulation.
Ch12 of Cosmos was interrupted by a Cat3 tea-spillage. After order was somewhat restored, I read about the search for extra-terrestrial life and had more nostalgia about my old SETI screensavers… made me think again of Dr Rachel Schwartz Narbonne’s #ViCEPHEC24 talk on participatory science. #ChemSky
