I can’t believe how warm this cardi is 🔥 I may die from a heatstroke, but if so I will die happy and stylish 😎🧶

Pieces of an unfinished, dark green, cable cardigan lie on an aged and mossy concrete path. The cardigan has multiple coloured stitch markers, pins and stitch holders attached to it. On top of the cardigan is a pattern book titled Echoes with a picture of pattern designer Susan Crawford, there is also a ball of vintage 1960s yarn in the same dark green, the label reads “zodiac 8 ply”. In the top left corner a young Dalmatian wearing a read collar is sniffing the cardigan, only her head and front right paw are visible

She’s already had a nibble on the pattern cover & now she’s eyeing up my WIP for chewability 🐶

I’ve previously shared the WIP of this 1960s jumper that I made my sister, so I thought I’d share a pic of the FO for sweater week #showmeyourknits Luckily I got it finished well before the cold weather ended and it’s been keeping her toasty warm for weeks #vintageyarn #skyknits 🧶 #1960s

Six skeins of lavender coloured vintage yarn with art deco styled buff, black and white labels. The labels state the brand as Patons Netta, made in Australia by Patons and Baldwins Ltd, it is pure wool and each skein weighs 1 ounce. The yarn is fingering weight and has a very unusual crinkled texture

I've just opened a very exciting package - 6 oz of Patons Netta. This yarn was only produced between 1939 & 1951, so I'm assuming that it is 1940s #vintageyarn #vintageknitting #patonsaustralia #1940s

A short sleeved patterned jumper lies on green grass which is littered with yellowing leaves and bark. The jumper is in dappled sunlight. It is a mid greyish-blue and has stripes of yellow, purple, green and burgundy pattern work in the fairisle style.

It was hard to choose for #showmeyourknits this week - I have made so many blue things lately! This is Susan Crawford’s Bobby jumper made in a mix of #vintageyarn and SCV yarn. The main colour is a 1950s Patons Australia ‘Highland Sports Tweed’ which is heathered with flecks of yellow and red. 🧶

An unfinished, bright orange and blue patterned jumper lies on a white towel. The jumper is oversized and has orange ribbing at the hip and sleeve cuffs. The body has a dark blue background with an abstract floral pattern repeat in orange. The start of the second sleeve and 2 half used balls of blue and orange wool lie on top of the jumper.

A black and white 1960s knitting pattern picture featuring the jumper that I'm knitting. It has a dark background with a lighter coloured cuff, all over abstract floral pattern and a huge ribbed roll collar. The picture has been cropped at the waist so you cannot see the bottom of the jumper

For #showmeyourknits #WIP week, I'm still working on the 1960s jumper for my sister. I've just started the second sleeve, this one should go much faster now that I'm familiar with the pattern. Then I have to tackle that giant ribbed roll collar! #vintageknitting #vintageyarn 🧶

A blue child’s jumper lies on a cream painted table. The jumper is knit from vintage 1970s, blue variegated yarn which makes a random pattern of several shades of blue and white. The ribbing at the waist, cuffs and neckline are all a darker blue as is a stocking stitch detail across the shoulder

I had to rack my brain for #showmeyourknits #garterstitch week! It took me while to think of something, then I realised I had a jumper I made this year that qualified. 1980s #vintagepattern for a child’s jumper made from 70s #vintageyarn with a stocking stitch shoulder saddle #skyknits 🧶

An unfinished knitted jumper lies on rumpled, palest pink, linen sheets. The jumper is sky blue and has an all over cable pattern that almost looks like stylised scales. The body of the jumper is almost complete, it has stitch savers at the neckline waiting to be picked up. Only one sleeve has been knit so far and it is almost finished, it is bracelet length, with a fitted rib cuff that flares into a full sleeve. A ball of vintage sky blue yarn with a red and yellow label sits on the jumper.

It’s #WIP week for #showmeyourknits This week I’m working on a jumper for my M-I-L’s birthday. The clock is ticking and I only have a week to finish it. Wish me luck! The pattern is by Vetus Stercore & I’m making it in a 4ply #vintageyarn from the 60s Patons Nylette, an 80/20 wool & nylon blend 🧶

Its cardigan week! Who doesn’t love a nice cardi? Seeing it’s Mothers Day today as well, I thought I’d post this one that I made last year for my mum. It’s 90s yarn, a 50s pattern and vintage buttons and braid #showmeyourknits #skyknits #vintageknit #vintageyarn 🧶

A sky blue jumper with fair isle colourwork at the yoke and cuffs lies on a green lawn. The colourwork is quite vibrant in shades of orange, green, purple, burgundy, cerise and white. Loose threads can be seen poking out of one of the sleeves indicating that, while the jumper looks complete, there is still work to be done before it is finished.

I’m probably stretching the definition of #WIP for this week’s #showmeyourknits - this may be fresh off the needles but I’ve still got a lot of ends to weave in! Pattern is Jocosa by Susan Crawford using 60s & 70s #vintageyarn #knitsky 🧶

A work in progress jumper on a vintage wooden coat hanger, hangs on a hook on a 1920s cream door which has large ripple glass panels. The jumper, so far, only consists of a fairisle patterned yoke in shades of green, orange, purple, burgundy, cerise and white on a sky blue background. Various stitch markers, needle points and stoppers can be seen along the lower edge.

An in-progress knitting project with a thick, bright, cherry red rib and stripes of varying shades of blue, pink and red, lies on a grey picnic blanket. Next to the project is a bright red project bag with balls of the vintage yarn used to make the jumper. A young Dalmatian dog has one foot on the project bag as she leans across to sniff the knitting.
