Volos does own a Runar minion that he keeps around a lot. He loves to tease Y'shtola with it but otherwise he's just there.
Waxak got the sponge silkie from the Warrior of Light. He keeps it around as a pet. And sometimes use it to get free soap.

Volos hasn't fully yet, but he's on the path of recovery. Finding a new familly and reuniting with his sister really helps him moving forward.
Waxak's loss is recent, and his familly's bonds were really hurt by it. He has a lot of work to do, and no idea where to start.
