A walk from Kingsbury Meadow LNR up to Hurley STW and back this morning produced a few firsts for the year - Blackcap (male in subsong), 5x Golden Plover, 2x Snipe - also 60x Skylark, 18x Lapwing, 2x Meadow Pipit, 4x Pied Wagtail, Grey Wagtail, 15x Linnet, 2x Reed Bunting. 45 sp. #warksbirding

A lunch hour trip to Lea Marston was in order today after news of ⭐Hume's Leaf Warbler⭐ broke late yesterday evening. Managed 3 decent, but brief views of the bird, also called occasionally. Just outside my 3km #localpatch boundary, but a solid addition to my #PWC2026 10km list #warksbirding

2/2 As well as the YB Warbler, Hurley also gave great views of Stonechat, Chiffchaff & Siberian Chiffchaff. Great to see a Yellowhammer too, my first in long time.
Finished the day at Kingsbury watching Fieldfare & Redwing feeding along the canal.

Nice to be back out on the #localpatch this pm after 3 days stuck indoors painting. All change bird wise - last few Common Terns gone, along with the steady passage of hirundines from K'bury South. Green Sand replaces the lingering Common Sand.
