“Spring Creator” is a painting by Hungarian painter Ľudovít Čordák (1864-1937). This week I used his painting for practicing digital editing. The first photo is the original work; the second photo is my edit.

Vamping off of last week’s #WednesdayWorkshop post, I’m learning to be okay with a messy creative process. Having a system is fine, but not when it becomes so formulaic that it squanders expression. The back-and-forth - the “messy” - of creating is necessary.

This week I’m being brave, experimenting with new-to-me art styles and techniques. I’m having fun and the fun is showing up in my output.

Even better is the confidence boost. Did mistakes happen? Yes. Did the world end? Not from my mistakes. I’ll keep doin’ what I’m doin’.

My focus this week is experimenting with gouache. I've used gouache once or twice last year and found it fun to work with, and have since wanted to become more familiar with it. So far it's incredibly fun to use! 10/10 definitely recommend.
