Were you ever lucky enough to participate in a #WeirdEd chat back in the day? Those were AMAZING. Doug had such a gift of creating chaos that built community. It was truly beautiful, and no rules whatsoever!😁
This makes me think of back in the day, when Doug Robertson lead a #WeirdEd chat in rhyme. All the questions were were rhymes, and we were all trying to answer in rhymes. Justin Aion was absolutely amazing during that chat with his rhymes.😊

@TheWeirdTeacher was also a big hook for me into Twitter. He has published multiple books on teaching, he was running #weirded chats, and he was openly admitting that he was still struggling with classroom management.

This is actually a pattern for me. I do something thinking, "This will help a particular person." Then I realize that others might benefit from learning the same way, or even just by having the OPTION to learn that way. #weirded
A3: I was making materials for a student with visual impairment and it occurred to me that if it was helpful for him, it would be helpful to the 260 other kids in the school, too.

A2: Accidental reference. I named all the desktops in the computer lab using the NATO phonetic because numbering them confused me. (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?).

I think I'll do a lil #WeirdEd tonight. Caitlin, OH, technology resource teacher for early elementary, and I spent multiple Halloweens as the back end of a cow. My twin sister was the front. My mom worked really hard on that costume.
A4 cont'd: But that doesn't mean I won't try. Last year we had desktops but this year we can move more classes to using their class Chromebook sets in the lab. Can experiment with more flexible seating and grouping. We shall see how this goes. 2/end #weirded
A4: I think that'll be a struggle in a computer lab, just because one class comes in, works, then leaves - and another class comes in, works, and leaves, and so on. So it would be hard to create space kids shape for themselves without interefering with other classes #weirded 1/
A3: So far my system has generally been, "Try out idea I think is good, come to hate it in one to three days, rearrange everything, repeat." Sometimes it's nice to have limits like desktop cords that force me to be okay with SOMETHING #weirded
A2: When I taught in other buildings/had other positions, that was way more important to me. It was important for me to impress parents, or at least not appear like I cared less than other teachers. Now I teach in a computer lab so parents don't often visit. #weirded
