North Somerset to form part of new ‘Western Forest’ announced today North Somerset will form part of a new national forest stretching from the Cotswolds to the Mendips, it’s been announced today (Friday 21 March).

The project also seeks to connect woodlands, important for the region’s biodiversity, woodland health and carbon storage.
