Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum, a native perennial plant of the Pacific Northwest) is still blooming with bright yellow flowers. In the foreground are a variety of dead leaves (white oak, smoke tree, lilac) and a groundcover of native strawberry. Behind it are gray spent flower spikes from Salvia farinacea 'Victoria Blue' flowers. Black eyed Susans in the background still bloom as well.

This Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum, a native perennial), is still blooming. It should've been done in July. I can't decide which of us is more confused. #gardening #NativePlants #flowers #WesternOregon

Planting red tulip bulbs & daffodils beneath a Japanese maple (Sango kaku)

Planting red tulip bulbs & daffodils beneath a Japanese maple (Sango kaku)

Caught a break in the rain to put in bargain tulip & daff bulbs beneath a Japanese maple (Sango-kaku). Old chopsticks mark where I just planted them. Listening to the best scifi series The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. This muddy mess is pure heaven! #scifi #audiobooks #Gardening #WesternOregon

A sunny pic from June compared to a dreary one from yesterday. Still, the Skeeter's Broom (a dwarf acer palmatum from a Bloodgood Japanese maple) is now bright red & hanging onto its leaves. Grateful for this last bit of color. #landscape #gardeninspiration #westernoregon

garden bed of orange New Zealand sedge (Carex testacea) with purple huchera, pink bacopa, native strawberry and sword ferns

A ray of sunlight lit up this evergreen orange New Zealand sedge (Carex testacea). Its pretty purple huchera neighbors & pink bacopa will soon die back. But the evergreen native sword ferns & strawberries will keep vigil with it. Come spring, a riot of tulips will join them. #WesternOregon
