A DVD of the 2015 film 'Turbo Kid' on a black wooden counter next to an oat milk mocha in a mug. The mocha has latte art on top. The dvd case has art of the main character on the front, he is wearing a red helmet and a blue glove with stripes. There is electricity coming out of the glove. The dvd has a primarily black background with blue and orange in the bottom. The text is white and says the film title.

My partner has the day off from work which means I get to watch something with them! Today I picked #turbokid because I've been wanting to show this to them ever since I watched it last year.

A โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… review of Strike! (1998) "You're right to be afraid, because after the men plant their flag in this school they'll bury us. It'll be as subtle and insidious as it is in real life." There is something so formulaic about these ...

Today's #coffeewatch film was #hairybird (alternate title of Strike!) and for the most part I really enjoyed the unrelenting 90s 'girl power' of this teen comedy! I'm surprised I haven't seen it before.

Films I've rated lower than average vs higher than average! This does not surprise me, a lot of my favorite films are considered 'bad' films by many people haha! Most of the films on the higher list are comfort films or nostalgia films.

My top four first watches of July were difficult to choose. These four stood out to me as they were four that I knew I wanted to own a physical copy of right after watching!

1) The Garage (1979)
2) Annie Hall (1977)
3) Dummy (2002)
4) Shutter Island (2010)

Happy #letterboxdfriday everyone! My #lastfourwatched are pretty decent this week! 'Come and See' was spectacular but I never want to watch it again, the deafening sounds of war are still haunting me.

Movie poster for the film 'Toys'. There is a blue sky background with fluffy white clouds. In the center is the main character, played by Robin Williams, wearing a red suit and red bowler hat. In the center of the bowler hat is a cut out frame of the poster repeating itself. At the top of the poster is the title of the film 'Toys' in navy text with animated toy figures around the letters.

#currentlywatching a childhood favorite! I owned this on VHS as a child and rewatched it regularly; I loved the sets, costumes, and had feelings for Joan Cusack that I didn't know how to explain at the time. I loved the story of laughter, joy, and play overcoming obstacles!

A โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… review of The Dark Backward (1991) The main reason I kept watching was because the soundtrack used circus music and there was an accordion player. Granted, he was an obnoxious terrible person...but he had an accordion, and I love an ac...

Today's morning coffee film was #thedarkbackward and I am left with so many conflicting feelings. My biggest takeaway is that I think I need a shower; that was one grimey film!

A โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ review of Argylle (2024) I am so mad that this film is so hated. I hope it finds a cult following someday. I saw it in theaters when it first came out and loved it. I bought a physical copy of it because I enjoyed it so much....

Gave #argylle a rewatch tonight! I'm actually in the minority of those that enjoy this film. I liked it so much in theaters that I bought it on DVD. On rewatch, I still enjoy it!

I had a quiet day at home which was the perfect opportunity for a triple feature!

1) 1920s Soviet comedy about bigotry
2) 2010s drama romcom about infidelity and a failing marriage
3) 90s cult classic and my favorite nostalgia watch

A movie poster for the film 'The Garage'. It has a white background and in the middle is a multicolored text that reads the film title in Russian. At the top of the poster are two of the film's characters; on the right is one character laying on a desk and on the left is one character standing gesturing to the desk. Today's film was the 1979 Russian film #thegarage and it was absolutely unrelenting from beginning to end. It traps you in a room with 30 people and a decision to be made. With every voice, opinion, and choice comes heightened stakes and emotions. I loved it.

Today's morning coffee watch is the 1990s film #partygirl and it was a delight! Watching Parker Posey drunkenly spite learning the Dewey Decimal system because someone told her she was too stupid to figure it out was oddly relatable.

Honestly, I spent the week playing Sims so I didn't watch a lot of films. I did watch some short films with my morning coffee and a few light comedies though. Wasn't a great week for me film wise. My Sims are thriving though!

Today's morning coffee watch was a film that I put off watching for far too long. It was incredible and made me cry. It was none other than the 1920s silent film #battleshippotemkin and I lack the words to describe the energy of this film.
