#wardriving my standard loop to compare the panel antenna with the Yagi antenna.
Both have around 20 dBi gain.
Output into a 4-way splitter and then the top 4 channels (1,3,6,11) into the @lozaning #wifydra since the scan speed can handle the narrow beamwidth.

Wow, that's a lot of foot miles!
Good to know that its not just me or my setup.
I'm still rocking and digging the #wifydra Its amazing, the stuff it picks up regardless of road speed. Also having good antennas outside the car is the ticket for sure.

Oh for sure. 14k is 14k. I was just surprised to get so few new from so many.
I'm trying to take back roads for any drives I take.
Still tweaking the #wifydra to try and get a little more performance. Mostly just the best omni antennas I can verify.
I'm also still running solo. Lone wifi wolf FTW.

On a personal note, my weeks holiday ends today. Back to slaving for the man tomorrow.
That means forum admin, product support, blogging about industrial automaton and oddly, some shaking my fist at #kismet and looking at porting the #wifydra feather code to an Arduino with an Ethernet shield.

Took the #wifydra for a #wardrive to catch #allTheWifi
It went really really well. Its a beast at speed.
The S20 on the roof mounted #wiglefin is no slouch for 5Ghz. I think I have my kit dialed.
Finally broke into the top 500 club.
Photo of a quick S20 recharge at a rest stop.

Running a power brick endurance test on the #wifydra since it will be on the roof of the car and I don't want a power lead through the window, I need to know how long each of my packs can run it.
1.33 Amps or 6.8 Watts.
Ive pulled 10 amp hours over 7 hours 20 minutes so far.

Ok, we have a #allTheWifi 'winner'.
Samsung S20 = 512
#wifydra = 432
If you include the wifydra 0/0 lat/lons, they are the same.
Crazy.
The S20 really is a #wardrive beast.
Given the wifydra power draw and SD card shuffle after each drive, hard to see it being just that much better?

Me right now. Hand removing all the 5GHz SSIDs from a small #wardrive CSV file that I did with the Samsung S20 (and the #wifydra ).
MrBill @SecureThisNow gave me the idea how I can compare them apples to apples.
At the start of the #wifydra CSV there is a TON of 0,0 lat,lon SSIDs. Bit of an issue.

wardriving brain dump. | thebaldgeek Rough notes on how to go about setting up the hardware and software for ACARS decoding.

Just added a #wardrive brain dump page to my github.
More notes on the @lozaning #wifydra build coming soon (I'm still test driving catching #allTheWifi).

Did a 28 mile #wardrive to catch #allTheWifi just now.
Ran the #wifydra and the #wiglefin with the S20 in it. Pixel 8Pro in the car running the map.
Just uploading the data to @wiglenet now.
Still unclear which device is king of the SSID.
Uploading to @openstreetmap as well now.

A 3D printed fin shape that carries a cell phone and a red box with 14 antennas that carries some radio scanners that pick up wifi. Both are mounted on the roof of a rather dirty car. The devices are used for war driving. The art of picking up wifi signals and tagging them with GPS data.

Photos of a tiny small screen of a computer that scans 14 different radios that picks up all the channels in 2.4GHz Wifi.
It shows the number of wifi access points each of the 14 radios has picked up and the total, 10940.

I need some @wiglenet.bsky.social help.
I am trying to see the split of 2.4 vs 5 on a Samsung #wardrive
I have built a @lozaning.bsky.social #wifydra and am trying to compare 2.4 to 2.4. Scanning phone vs no scanning.
Any help at all would be super. Thanks.

Very first #wardrive with the #wifydra today.
Mixed. It rebooted twice. Need to get the power supply more stable than a USB-C plug.
I have two channels that did not pick up any SSID's. That does not seem right.
Numbers were about the same as the S20 phone on the brain bucket.

Its easy to see on the wigle map where I've ridden and others have driven. I cant wait to get the 14 channel 2.4GHz #wifydra built. Going to attach it with magnets to the top box.
Will talk about that when we get it built and tested in a week or two.
Nice to ride with purpose.
