Holly trees with just a few red berries left. A Redwing sits on a branch right in the middle of the shot. You can just see it’s red underwing flash if colour. It’s a bird in the thrush family and it really like holly berries!

The Redwings have cleared the berries off the bank of holly behind our garden. Lovely birds and great to see so many this year. They are fast but this one sat for its photo!

#darkmofo #winterfeast began tonight. In the midst of the cold and dark, warmth and light. We tried the brushtail possum bao, the Bolognese spring roll, and the soufra with poached pear and creme fraiche. Really good. We earmarked dishes for next time, too! Maybe tomorrow.
