It's a tough year for any musical event - witness the late cancellation of Bluesfest this year with the added uncertainties of world events, petrol prices inflation and a general stench and plague on democracy emanating from a certain area of the world. At least we have Dark Mofo to provide another deliciously impertinent beacon of naughty fun between 11 and 22 June 2026, mostly centered around Hobart, the capital at the edge of the world.

There’s an art festival in Tasmania in the middle of Winter called Dark MOFO. Last year’s festival asked people to write their fears and put them in a sacrificial object that would be burned to at the end.

This triple involved three bands who sit within the punk-rock category, albeit that each band was wildly different from the other. This was one of the reasons why the night was as successful as it was. Each band is fronted by a strong, and confident female lead singer, and all three oozed attitude and tempered aggression in the delivery of each band's songs.
