A mockery, considering that Eskel had also had his problems with his surprise child. In truth, they all had their stories, even Lambert. “You were dead,” he stated matter-of-factly. “That's what Geralt said. But either he was mistaken, or the friend you speak of saved you in whatever remarkable ways. Not everyone’s so lucky, Regis. All I can say is: keep searching.” He almost spat out the last words before sinking back onto the pillow, staring silently at the ceiling for a while until falling into a restless sleep.
