Made a quilt ladder for my sister-in-law's birthday. I used Sapele for the rails. For the rungs, I used Purpleheart, Canarywood, Bubinga, Bloodwood, Granadillo, and African Padauk. The large dowel pins are made of African Blackwood.

Finished one half of the bedframe. Which is handy, because I had to move that out before I could start final fit and glue up of the other half.
Happy with it so far - it's not perfect but it's a prototype, I used pine, and it *works* even if it ain't quite as pretty as I'd like.

A branch of dogwood 30 inches in length, with a fork at one end and two stubs about 6 inches above. The surface has been smoothed with a knife, scraped, and burnished with a whale’s tooth. Dogwood burnished to a wonderful smooth shine that really doesn’t need further finishing.

Two pieces of oak connected at a 25° angle, using a mortice and tennon join with a circular dowel through the corner.
Really pleased with this bit of joinery on my coffee table. It’s French oak with a maple dowel pin through the tennon. I made the dowel from reclaimed floorboards rescued from a sports hall in Truro. #woodworking
