"The World's Littlest Skyscraper" or the Newby-McMahon Building in Wichita, Texas was built in the 1910s by a con artist who promised investors a new skyscraper. But his blueprints used inches instead of feet (e.g. 480" tall versus 480' tall). According to legend, nobody noticed till it was too late, and a judge ruled it legally binding. It stands just 40 ft or 12 m tall, and is listed as a Texas Historic Landmark.
