Knit sweater project that is in progress. It features soft wool that is dyed in a variety of both warm and cool natural colors that resemble the browns and greens in a forest of trees and the blues of a stream or lake.

One night she wanted to know something about me. I coughed out an account of myself. I tried to make a case for having once wanted a full and tiring life. I described a bounteous enough marriage to a wife summarily venerated, a wife who sipped at life through last straws….

Knitting project: beginning of a ranunculus sweater with periwinkle yarn. Detail showing special decorative stitches.
Decided to start a #sweater! First time ever. I usually #knit socks, hats or shawls. It’s the #Ranunculus pattern on Ravelry. #Yarn is Lamb’s Pride #worsted #wool #mohair blend in Periwinkle. It has not been smooth sailing so far. I started the neckline twice and also ripped a few rows of the yoke.

…his oldest is rarely present for what her life entails, by which he means…she is never quite actually in person and instead operates on a kind of delay, trailing after herself in her own wake, sinking only with reluctance into her accumulated life, then backing out again.
