I have been considering putting #WyrmsGate on the back burner (which it effectively already is) and starting to work on a super-hero take on Hitman.
I have characters from the #WondersRPG that fits into this role perfectly.

#WyrmsGate is a turn-based RPG in a JRPG fashion, meaning you run into an enemy and the game transition into a combat encounter. Think PokΓ©mon, Persona or Dragon Quest.

It didn't work as I wanted it because the EQS mostly sends the enemies in the same direction, while I want a more randomised result. #wyrmsgate #unrealengiβ¦

I'm considering letting go of the whole "solo developer" thing and try to find a team to help on #WyrmsGate.
But it didn't go well in past projects.
I managed to fix the final step in my free-roam enemy AI.
It was so simple, I was just stupid.
There are truly things that slip your mind after 3 hours of dev work.

I worked for 3 hours to first create a prototype BSP level layout, then isometric click to move character controller. Just to figure out that for some reason the BSP<>Static Mesh conversion didn't work with the navmesh volume.

After learning some Blender and Substance Painter to create the demo level of #WyrmsGate, today I will start exploring Unreal Engine and learn how to make a game with blueprint visual-scripting.

I didn't make as much progress as I wanted to this week. Some small modifications: remade the entrance to the gate-house and added the cube-teleporter-thingy. Also, practised some displacement textures. #gamedev #GameDev #3dmodeling #leveldesign
