A series of edited screenshots, starting with Wuk Lamat being asked her thoughts, off screen, on my character, Arismont Imbertain- known to her by the affectionate nickname, Aina. At first she seems contemplative, saying "How I feel about... Arismont? Oh, you mean Aina? Well..."

The second panel shows excitement in her eyes, willing to praise her friend. She continues, "He's been a great friend! I won't lie, I've always been insecure about my inexperience compared to my brothers, but he was there to remind me of what I'm really fighting for - to remember what Dawnservant meant to me! That's not something I'll ever forget. I don't know if I would have held on til the end without his advice."

A continuation of the previous set of screenshots, this time with Wuk Lamat's brother, Koana, being asked the same question. Staring out from the balcony in the palace, he ponders his answer. "I've been blinded in the past by the need to push towards what I thought was the future. I mistook the conveniences of Sharlayan technology for superiority, and... failed to value the lessons Tural's various cultures had to impart. Lamaty'i helped me see that, but I knew I couldn't let my work end at that realization. I still can't."

His tone changes in the second panel, looking up as he speaks more with hope than the weight of his responsibility. "In that regard, I have Arismont's guidance to thank. My desire to ease the burdens of Tural's peoples as Dawnservant hasn't changed, but I owe it to his perspective on the state of the world to keep my sights set on who I'm really serving with my advancements. We aren't Sharlayan, and I have nothing to be ashamed of. He taught me that, and I'll be forever grateful."

One must imagine the Dawn's Promises happy.

A screenshot from Final Fantasy 14. A brightly lit summer morning in a dense woodland, with light filtering through the trees. Arismont, an elf with dark hair and blue-tinted grey skin, is washed gently in this light, as he looks at the camera with a smile. A text box is below him, with his dialogue: "Coming all this way from Tuliyollal, I've still learned nothing about you. Surely you can tell me something personal by now, can't you? A hobby or two?"

A follow-up screenshot, showing that the one to whom Arismont is speaking is Zoraal Ja, a reptilian man with similarly blue scales, donning regal jewelry and a crown with pseudo-Aztec patterning. With the lens angle changed, he appears to be looking off-camera to the man speaking to him. Arismont's text from the previous image continues: "Perhaps a passion of yours? Your greatest fear?"

The scene goes dark, with only a pair of golden eyes, the same color as Arismont's, alight in the distance. Images are above and below the black in the center, with a haze over them; this is a dream. In it, Zoraal Ja is thirty years older, having discarded the symbols of his culture and now adopting a steel, cybernetic armor over his body, indicative of his status as the tyrant king of a foreign nation.
The image above the darkness depicts Arismont, similarly dressed in a Victorian blouse and dress rather than the cultural linens of Tural; his head is obscured by the shadows of this dream, and the last words of his question in the previous panel fade in over his head, "greatest fear?" Here, he is pierced by Zoraal Ja's futuristic blade, effortlessly lifted by the now-older man's strength.
In the bottom image, however, Zoraal Ja finds an armor-clad figure staring him in the eye, still impaled on his blade in place of who was once there. This is the armor of the Dark Knight, of those who vow to mete out justice where the law will not. The blood from the flesh it had previously pierced has now become the violent, aggressive backlighting onto the pitch-black armor. Rather than helpless and limp like before, the armored figure pulls itself further into the blade, grabbing Zoraal Ja by the arm. Ink drips from the crevices in its helmet, pouring onto the now-king's shocked face. Despite the horizontal view, the ink falls as if the knight holds itself above the king.

The scene returns to the present, Zoraal Ja looking away from the camera- from Arismont, his future executioner- in blissful ignorance of what will come. He is brightly lit by the sunrise, and his text box beneath him brushes off Arismont's previous question. "...What a ridiculous question."
