This place is a symbol of the living hope we are called to proclaim. A pile of rubble 75 years ago until the first restoration stone was laid by the King of a foreign land. Through the grave & gate of death the green blade riseth.

A prayer for the installation of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Almighty God, you call your Church in every age to proclaim the gospel of Christ: look with mercy upon your servant Sarah, and grant that, as deacon, she may care for those in need, as priest, sustain us with the ministry of word and sacrament, and as bishop, guard the faith and build up the body of Christ in holiness. Give her wisdom and kindness that as archbishop, she may promote unity, seek truth, and lead us in the way of righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Join us in prayer for the Archbishop of Canterbury on the day of her installation. 🙏
*SAVE THE DATE!* Please join us if you are able on Sunday 21 June 2026 at 11am for a special service of Holy Communion with guests from the UK and Norway to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the laying of the restoration stone here.
In our pre-Holy Week tidy up we unearthed a bag of flags that seem to match those in the photos from the service in June 1951 when the first stone was laid by the King of Norway to mark the start of the restoration of our beautiful medieval church after WW2
