A snowy scene in which a humanoid figure in long black robes with the head of a rook stands in a churchyard holding a long spear. By its feet is a red fox. Both are flecked with fallen snow. Around them are many weathered snow-covered graves. In the background is a medieval church of warm coloured stone with large rectangular windows and a battlemented parapet topped with pinnacles. Behind the main body of the church is the tower with clock face and belfry. Behind the church are tall but bare trees dusted with snow. More snow falls in the air.

Pink Ghost Pipe plant at my hometown, Logy Bay, #Newfoundland Canada. Ghost Pipes are most commonly white, but some have pink or even red colouration. Pic from a couple of years ago, in August.

A six-panel comic. In panel 1, text says "People often wonder, why don't I see baby pigeons? Here's where they're hiding:" and there's an egg with an arrow pointing to a question mark, then an arrow pointing to an adult pigeon. Panel 2 says "Pigeons don't nest in trees. They nest in sheltered spaces on or in buildings. This keeps their babies safe from weather and predators." There's a pigeon nesting in a sheltered cavity in the side of a building. Panel 3 says "The hidden babies look like this: like moldy potatoes, but cute" and there are two baby pigeons looking, well, like moldy pink and gray potatoes with yellow fuzz. Panel 4 says "Older baby pigeons hide in plain sight. When they leave the nest, they're adult-sized, but they're still young and learning" and a fledgling pigeon is flying out of a building saying "aaaaaa". Panel 5 says "Here's how to identify these young pigeons" and shows a fledgling pigeon with arrows pointing to these features: eyes may be gray-brown, pale-edged feathers, smaller "nose" (cere), subdued hues, and looks worried. Panel 6 says "Scientifically speaking, though, all pigeons are sweet babies" and there are three very cute round pigeons, a gray, white, and red one, with arrows pointing to them to make things look scientific.

For #GarWeek, here is a juvenile gar from southern Green Bay that we encountered this summer. Look that those pectoral fins go! After length measurement, this fish was released on site. #GreatLakes
Friday night at the lab! Unfortunately they don’t have gloves big enough for my paws. And the lab coats aren’t designed with tails in mind 😅
Trying to apply to fishery jobs without having done internships (due to life issues in university) like: please I love fish please please please hire me I will relocate for fish

Photo realistic digital painting of a turkey vulture perched on a tree branch. The bird's feathers shine with many shades of deep purple to highlights of tan and it has a red face.
Ok, good thing I started this one early enough because it was a project! But I had to do one of my favorite birds proud. It is always fascinating to me how birds that you think of as black are actually so many different colors. Here's my turkey vulture for this month's #BirdWhisperer

Being hit with the “losing weight will help with this problem”card again by my pcp 😔
Like ma’am. Half my body mass is muscle.
I also had this problem when I weighed 30-40lb less.
