I made a Doppler Effect simulator in Desmos!

We used a video clip of race cars to determine the observed frequency when approaching and receding, then calculated the car's velocity and the frequency it's producing. Then I built this simulation.

I teach a class for first year college students and the student population is similar. They learn about "function-sense" by creating mathematical art in Desmos that they render on an Axidraw pen plotter. Lots of engagement and many ways to give challenges to more advanced students.
