Pitching a Novel Idea
Something was wrong with my novel pitch. Although my initial hook felt right, it wasn’t expressing the my work's essence in a captivating way. It needed reworking. And fast.

Israeli forces murdered 15 paramedics & ambulance/civil defence workers in Gaza & buried the bodies alongside their wrecked emergency vehicles.
The UK govt is supporting, arming & militarily assisting Israel to commit these war crimes.
Former MSF President Joanne Liu's presentation at NYU was cancelled because it showed the data on the number of aid workers killed around the world, the highest number being in Gaza. This was considered antisemitic. I should be surprised and shocked, but I'm not.

I watched Adolescence last week so now my news feed is partly articles about the filming of it -- which is fascinating -- and partly by editorials from The Spectator furiously leaping through all sorts of hoops to explain that toxic masculinity is not a (or the) problem.

Australia has a Blak history.
